Chocolate Yule Log recipes cooking december
Ingredients
Ganache
- 3/4 cup (180 ml) 35% cream
- 6 oz (180 g) semisweet chocolate, coarsely chopped
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) orange liqueur (optional)
Cake
- 1 cup (250 ml) flour
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) baking powder
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup (250 ml) sugar
- 2 teaspoons (10 ml) vanilla extract
- 3 tablespoons (45 ml) melted butter, at room temperature
Frosting
- 2 cups (500 ml) icing sugar
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) cocoa powder
- 1 cup (250 ml) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 to 2 tablespoons (15 to 30 ml) 35% cream

NOTE FROM RICARDO
For a chocolate mocha log, replace 25 ml (1 1/2 tablespoons) of the cocoa powder in the frosting with the same amount of instant coffee dissolved in 25 ml (1 1/2 tablespoons) of boiling water. Add it at the same time as the cream.
